Supervised
and Unsupervised Neural Networks have considerable potential as classifiers of remotely sensed data. Our group develops
and applies statistical and neural tecniques for
analysis of multi-sources and multi-temporal
remotely sensed data. Strategies based
on Self-Organized Maps, Support Vector Machines, MLP, etc has been used for
land cover classification and discrimination. Multi-spectral images, at
different spatial resolution has been used (ASTER, IKONOS, LANDSAT, SPOT),
and some works are in progress with Hyper-spectral images. The archeological area near Paestum
has been analized in
collaboration with Dipartimento di Beni Culturali,
and the urban area near Salerno
and Sele has been studied for environment
factor analysis.
